Well No. 7, Watseka, Illinois

Watseka's Well No. 7 went unused for several years due to taste and odor problems. Water analysis showed that treatment of raw water from this well with aeration, detention, and filtration would eliminate the problems and provide finished water within the current drinking water quality standards. The treatment design for Well No. 7 includes:

  • New Tonka "Dualator" package iron and odor
    removal plant
  • High service pumps
  • Backwash water holding tank
  • Backwash water disposal pump station and forcemain
  • System telemetry instrumentation/control
  • Plant site fencing
  • Plant site piping
  • Miscellaneous sitework

Treated water from Well No. 7 is pumped directly into the water distribution system or stored in the 150,000 gallon storage tower adjacent to the well. The existing chemical feed equipment for the well was salvaged and reused.
