CTH C
Adams County, Wisconsin
Foth was retained to provide roadway design services to reconstruct a 4.5-mile segment of CTH C, a roadway in Adams County. The project needed to be completed as quickly as possible to minimize commercial impacts to local farmers and tourism interests in the area.
Road Reconditioning
The final highway reconditioning design, which followed Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) procedures, widened the existing 4.5-mile stretch of highway to two, 12-foot lanes with 3-foot gravel shoulders. Limited stopping sight distances, poor intersection geometrics and other substandard road conditions were corrected in the design of the project. When completed, approximately one year was eliminated from the standard project schedule for design and letting, resulting in minimal disruptions to adjacent landowners and the traveling public.
