"Our vision is to maintain the rural character and protect natural and cultural resources of Nasewaupee by guiding and focusing development."

The Town of Nasewaupee, Wisconsin, is undertaking the development of a Comprehensive Plan to provide a long-range and legal framework to guide future local actions and decisions. The comprehensive plan will address goals, objectives, policies, programs and strategies for the following nine elements:

1. Issues and Opportunities
2. Housing
3. Transportation
4. Utilities and Community Facilities
5. Agricultural, Natural and Cultural Resources
6. Economic Development
7. Intergovernmental Cooperation
8. Land Use
9. Implementation

Timely and continuous public involvement is a key to the ultimate success and community acceptance of the comprehensive plan. This web site is one of several means by which the Town will use to continue to promote public awareness and involvement to support and direct the development of the comprehensive plan. Other methods to promote public participation are outlined within the Public Participation Plan.

The comprehensive plan will be developed to comply with the State of Wisconsin recently enacted comprehensive planning "Smart Growth" legislation. Although the "Smart Growth" legislation provides a framework for a unified land use planning and regulation enabling law for Wisconsin, the actual development of the comprehensive plan is a locally driven process.

This site will be updated frequently to keep YOU informed on planning accomplishments, project schedule, upcoming meeting agendas and dates, meeting minutes, and other information. The Town encourages YOUR involvement and input at future planning meetings. If you cannot attend meetings, you may provide your comments by contacting a member of the Plan Commission or by e-mail.
