Relocating a Complete Business
A Major US based Food company acquired a complete business (multiple product lines ) that was supported from a single 150,000 s/f European manufacturing location. Foth was hired to gather required information and develop required documentation to remove and relocate all production and support equipment. This equipment had to be split and relocated to (2) existing US base manufacturing locations in under (1) year
Challenges:
- The existing equipment was poorly documented (No P&IDs, Balance & Flow Diagrams, Assembly drawings, & minimal Power & Controls drawings).
- Processes were poorly documented (maintained in operators and maintenance/engineering personnel).
- Union interaction limited ability to gather data (secrecy)
Benefits:
- Short, Intense data gathering to acquire basic needs information to allow relocation
- Development of a cost and time effective approach to deal with foreign voltages and frequencies
- Main product destination – US (huge shipping savings)
