Gum Base Project - Batch
To meet product demand, the manufacturer invested millions of dollars to relocate equipment and add additional automated equipment to increase gum base production. The system will produce a lower cost product per ton by reducing manpower thru automation and reduced material cost by utilizing bulk storage and delivery.
Challenges:
- Design system to fit in an existing building presently occupied by another process. Existing height between floor offered added challenges.
- Design layout of equipment to allow ease of operation and also allow for adequate product storage.
- Employees needed to be trained to operate and troubleshoot the new technology.
Benefits:
- Reduce loss time accidents by reducing manual lifting
- Additional automation to improve repeatability, product quality and reduced manpower.
- Reduce ingredients costs by utilizing bulk storage systems shared with another process.
