Food Packaging Line Relocations/Upgrades
A large food producer desired to move the production of a particular product by relocating two complete packaging lines from one plant into two other plants. The two relocated lines replaced three older production lines with similar capability.
Challenges:
- Integrate line to reduce downtime while increasing line speed.
- Develop line layouts to enhance operations and maintenance access.
- Extend custom pin conveyor to accommodate increased automation and work stations.

Project Included:
- Decommissioning of two packaging lines.
- Removal of three obsolete packaging lines.
- Upgrades to relocated lines to enhance production. Upgraded equipment included; case packers, palletizers, scales, feeders, conveyors and sealers.
- Integration of X-Ray detection.
- New back card placer.
- Weigh system.
- Pin line conveyor extension and drive replacement.
- Safety upgrades including guarding.
