The Wisconsin Integrated Resource Management Conference brings together Wisconsin’s solid waste and recycling community to learn, connect, and advance sustainable resource management.
At Foth, our long‑standing commitment to this mission runs deep. We are dedicated to solving complex environmental and solid waste challenges through engineering excellence, innovation, and true partnership. Our approach is grounded in sustainability, stewardship, and creating long‑term, positive impacts for the communities we serve.
“Putting the Pieces Back Together Again” will provide a detailed look at how the Columbia County Solid Waste Department navigated significant organizational, operational, and infrastructure disruptions and rebuilt a stronger, more resilient waste management system.
This presentation will walk attendees through the department’s journey of diagnosing problems, redesigning internal processes, and implementing practical, sustainable solutions that improved service delivery for residents and municipalities.
“Chasing Chlorides” explores the ongoing environmental and operational challenges surrounding a historic landfill that continues to require active, long-term management to control chloride migration. The session focuses on how legacy disposal sites, often built before modern engineering standards, pose persistent groundwater risks and demand continuous monitoring, adaptive strategies, and hands on fieldwork to protect surrounding water resources.
