The city of Springfield, Missouri selected Foth to provide environmental management consultation for implementation of the city’s Brownfield Pilot Grant Program. Under this project, Foth provided Phase II environmental assessments of selected properties within approximately 0.8 square miles of historic downtown, designated as the Brownfield study area.

Foth investigated pesticides, solvents, and other hazardous chemicals at sites ranging from abandoned feed mills to former manufactured gas plants. We also helped the city present these results to regulators, city officials, and the public. The city used the assessments to guide decisions regarding property acquisition and development.

The U.S. EPA recognized the city of Springfield’s downtown revitalization project with a Phoenix Award. Foth played a major part in the city’s efforts to revamp the downtown area, especially in the development of Jordan Valley Park.
