San Francisco Trans Bay Cable Geophysical Surveys
San Francisco, San Pablo and Suisun Bays, CA
Trans Bay Cable, LLC (TBC) authorized Foth to collect geophysical data along an 83.5 km high voltage cable route from Pittsburg, CA to the southeastern shoreline of San Francisco, CA. Our field team collected high resolution multibeam echo sounder (MBES) data, sidescan sonar imagery (SSS), and depth of burial data using sub-bottom profiling and gradiometer technology, along a 150-meter survey swath width for the entire length of the cable. Foth provided data reduction, charting, reporting and identified Areas of Concern (AOC) along the cable route. AOCs are specific reaches of the cable route where the cable, or its supporting mattress, are exposed above the mud / sand line, or where debris or wrecks could impact the cable.
