Calico Cottage Candied Nut Production

Background

Calico Cottage, a long‑standing fudge mix manufacturer, wanted to expand its product offerings by adding candied nut snack production. The objective was to strengthen competitiveness through product line expansion while making better use of underutilized space within the existing facility. 

Approach

We partnered with Calico Cottage to provide comprehensive facility planning, process design, and installation services to support the addition of flavored, roasted nut production. Our team developed a processing plan that fit within an underused portion of the facility while integrating smoothly with ongoing operations. 

We selected, sourced, and procured all required processing and packaging equipment, followed by coordinated facility construction and process installation. To limit disruption, we completed start‑up and commissioning activities while an existing production line remained fully operational. 

Results

 The project delivered a complete candied nut production system, including one nut roasting line, one coating line, and one packaging line. As a result, Calico Cottage gained expanded manufacturing capabilities, improved use of existing space, and a broader product portfolio that supports long‑term growth in the snack and confectionery market.
