Protein Processing Facility Improvements to Enhance Operational Performance

Background

Tyson Foods identified the need for facility‑wide upgrades to support operational efficiency, safety, and long‑term performance of its fresh and frozen sandwich assembly operation. To meet these objectives, the company implemented a series of RTE protein processing facility improvements within an active production environment.

The improvements needed to address evolving operational requirements while supporting food safety, efficiency, and reliability. Given the scale and complexity of the operation, improvements had to be carefully planned and executed to minimize disruptions and maintain continuous production.

Approach

Our team supported the RTE protein processing facility improvements through integrated planning, engineering, and construction services. Early efforts focused on evaluating existing systems and workflows to identify opportunities for operational enhancements across multiple areas of the facility.

The scope included facility‑wide upgrades designed to improve functionality, efficiency, and maintainability. Work was sequenced and coordinated to maintain ongoing operations while upgrades were implemented. Throughout the process, our team collaborated closely with Tyson Foods to align improvements with operational priorities and long‑term goals.

By taking a phased approach, the facility improvements were implemented safely and efficiently while daily operations continued.

Results

The upgraded facility enhanced operational performance, improved workflows, strengthened food safety measures, and increased overall efficiency.

Because of these changes, Tyson Foods is better equipped to adapt to shifting consumer demands.
